Meet the 2005 Grace Habitat Family
My name is Erin Giacoma. My husband's name is Gene Giacoma. We have been married for 3 years. We have two children. Chloe, our daughter is going to be four in August. Cayden, our son, is going to be two in August. We applied for a Habitat for Humanity house in November 2003. We were so excited when we were accepted. We each had to complete 250 "sweat equity hours." 125 hours are done by doing community service. The other 125 hours are for the building of our home. So far we have worked for Good Samaritan, landscaping on the 146th Street Habitat houses, office work and at the storage units. Doing those jobs gave us such a sense of accomplishment. We knew that we were helping others as well as building a future for our family.
We are so proud to be a part of Habitat for Humanity. Having a home of our own means not having to worry about where we will be living the next year. It will give our children stability and comfort.
We want to thank Grace Community Church for helping us accomplish our dreams of being a homeowner. Thanks a lot.
